Project Introduction
Reverse engineering is used for documentation, investigation, and improvement. For this project we used reverse engineering to improve our project. There are three stages of reverse engineering. They are visual analysis, functional analysis, and structural analysis. Tiernan and I came up with possible improvements in the automoblox by thinking of what kids want in a toy car. The first thing that came to mind was a remote control car.
Reverse Engineering
Visual Analysis is looking at the elements and principles in the object you are reverse engineering. An example of this is saying "this object has blue, orange, and red colors. It also has curved horizontal lines."
Functional Analysis is analyzing the function of the part of an object and seeing what the part's function is without taking the object apart. An example of this is using the Black Box Method. The black box method is when you input something that could happen to the object and then there is a output depending on what the input was. An example is input - object falls on ground, output - object breaks. Structural Analysis is taking apart the object and observe the workings of it(how it works). An example of this is people looking inside computers to see how they work and how to make them better.

I showed the additions of our car to my mother and father. Once I told them that we added things to it to make it more appealing to kids, they thought it looked a lot better than the original T9 Truck. I told them that we added an atenna to the truck and constructed a remote control to go with it. My parents were very interested on how we constructed the car and how it all came together. Also they were very surprised it only took us 5 days. My mom suggested that we add an on and off switch on the car. She also said to change the color of the car to make it look nicer. My dad suggested to add lights to the front and back of the car. I told both of my parents that these were good suggestion but that we didn't have enough time to add them to the car.
Present Solution
Personally I think me and Tiernan worked very well together. We were always on task right when we get into class. Also we would collaborate and know what the other person was doing and what we were supposed to be doing. Our final design came out really good. At first I thought it wasn’t going to look to good but after we finished it looked really nice. When I was creating the remote control, it was very confusing at first and it didn’t look good. But once I extruded it and added all the buttons and joysticks it looked really nice. Our inventor skills were very good during this project even though we created tough parts. To make it easier on us we put a picture of the object we were creating in inventor and then modeled it to look like it. This helped us in the long run and without our parts probably would look as good. One factor that must be considered when changing and enhancing a design is proportion. If you create the enhancement or change to big or small it won’t be proportional to the object you are doing it to. When we created the antenna it was too big to fit on the t9 truck, so we derived it to make it fit. Another factor is the location of the enhancement or change. When we were adding the antenna to the t9 truck we had to think where to put it. Looking at other cars with antenna they are usually around the middle of the car, so we put the antenna right behind the window. One last factor is color. The color you make the change or enhancement has to go with the rest of the object. It is important to document the braimstorming process because it shows you how you got to the object you are creating. Also it allows you to see what other ideas you had. Lasty, it allows you to put those ideas in a decision matrix to see which one is the best. The purpose of sketching your ideas is to see generally it would look like if you did that idea. Also it shows the difficulty to make it for each idea. Lastly it gives you an overview of how capable you are at using this idea and making it. I thought that this project was very fun and I would do it again.

Personally I think me and Tiernan worked really well together. Every time at the start of class we got right to doing are work. Our final design came out really well. At first I thought it was going to be really hard to construct a remote control in inventor. But after finishing the first sketch it was super easy and I finished in no time. Our inventor skills were very good during this project. We knew what we were doing and we rarely had mess ups, and if we did we would fix them right away. Also the parts we made in inventor were really hard to make but we made them with ease. One factor that must be considered when enhancing or changing a design is the proportion of the object. In our project when we made the antenna and put it in an assembly file with the car it was half the size of it. To fix this we just derived it. Another factor is placement. If you are adding an antenna, radio, engine, etc to your T9 Truck you must know where to place it or it won't look right. One last factor is color. If you change the color of the T9 Truck you have to make it correspond with everything else.
