Define a Problem
The purpose of this project is to flip a light switch with ease. The project will make it easier to turn the lights on and off. The project needs to be set on a table for it to work.

Our second simple machine used in our project was a first class lever. The vex lab experience seemed very fast and efficient. I like it a lot more than inventor. The project took us 2 days and the Weebly also took two days. The project worked out very well. It worked right away. Over time we added things to it to make it more stable and efficient. There weren't really any setbacks. The only mistake we made was that we forgot to take pictures of us making the project. We had to disassemble the project and take pictures while we put it together. One skill I learned is t0 check the rubric before you start making the project. Also to sketch out your idea first to see how it works. While we were testing we added a lever system to the compound machine to make it more efficient. At first we had no lever and it still worked but it didn't work as well as we wanted it. We also screwed in metal parts to the side of the lever to keep it stable.
Present a Solution
The first picture is on the first day of building, and we barely got down what we wanted in our project.
The second is the second day, and we made adjustments to the build.
The third is the final product and it works as intended.

Conclusion
The sprocket and chain was the easiest to determine the mechanical advantage. It was the easiest because all the gears had the same number of teeth. So the IMA would be 1. The wheel and axle was the most difficult to determine the mechanical advantage. It was the most difficult because it was hard to find out what was the effort force and what was the resistance force. Once we found out the resistance and effort force (which took a while) it was very simple. One modification we could make is we could make the output gear smaller. This would make the gear rotate faster which would make the lever work faster. This would then make the light switch turn on or off faster. Another way to make it more mechanically efficient would make the effort force and resistance force equal to each other in the first class lever. This would make the IMA of the lever 1.
